**Case Study**
Inner Mongolia Low-Temperature Evaporator High-Concentration Mother Liquor Case
**Project Overview**
The client is one of the six major pharmaceutical bases, a modern comprehensive pharmaceutical factory integrating pharmaceutical intermediates, APIs, and drug formulations, with an annual production of 10,000 tons of amoxicillin APIs.
**Project Disposal Pain Points**
In the process of producing APIs, the enterprise generates a large amount of wastewater. After treatment with processes such as MVR evaporator + centrifugation + pressure filtration, high-concentration mother liquor is produced, with an annual output of about 20,000 tons. The cost of disposing of one ton of water is about 2000 yuan. The MVR disposal process has a low concentration ratio, resulting in a large volume of mother liquor. The heat exchanger fouls severely, leading to expensive cleaning costs. The calorific value of the centrifugal mother liquor is not high, resulting in expensive incineration costs. Direct outsourcing of the mother liquor incurs high costs. Returning the liquor for disposal increases the load on the MVR system.
**WSD Environmental Solution**
In order to better achieve wastewater reduction and resource utilization, after a series of process comparisons, the client ultimately chose the WSD low-temperature evaporator. After the waste liquid is injected into the low-temperature evaporator, steam is automatically introduced, and the distillation tank is heated using steam as the heat source in the jacket. Under vacuum conditions, the boiling point of water is lowered, and the waste liquid in the evaporation kettle is continuously concentrated. The water vapor is filtered and enters the condenser for recovery and output. The internal scraper automatically reverses to prevent scaling/coking. The residual moisture content after disposal is ≤15%, in solid form, with no fluidity, automatically discharged and disposed of externally.

**Comprehensive Benefits**
In February 2021, the client’s second mother liquor disposal equipment was also put into operation. It has been in continuous operation since then. As of now, WSD has processed a total of 21,682 tons of high-concentration mother liquor for Inner Mongolia Federal Pharmaceutical, saving a total of 17.35 million yuan in wastewater disposal costs.
