The client is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lutianhua Group. The company’s MVR (Mechanical Vapor Recompression) device for concentrated brine drying project is located in Ningxia, designed and constructed by WSD. It mainly treats the end-stage mixed salt mother liquor of coal chemical wastewater, with a designed daily processing capacity of 65m³. The project is designed as a modular, integrated system with a rational and compact layout, simple process, concise pipeline arrangement, and high safety factor.
Pain point
During the production of coal chemical products, the client generates a large volume of highly concentrated coal chemical wastewater. Initially, the client used an MVR evaporator without a backup system and without designing a mother liquor drying process. This led to continuous circulation of the mother liquor within the system, resulting in the accumulation of pollutants. Consequently, the evaporator experienced scaling and blockages, rendering the mother liquor unable to be effectively treated.
Solution
To achieve better wastewater reduction and resource utilization, the client, after a series of process evaluations, ultimately chose the WSD low-temperature evaporative crystallizer. Upon injecting the waste liquid into the low-temperature evaporative crystallizer, steam is automatically introduced, utilizing steam as a heat source to heat the distillation tank within the jacket. Under vacuum conditions, the boiling point of water is reduced, allowing for continuous concentration of the waste liquid within the evaporative vessel. The water vapor is filtered and enters the condenser for recovery and output. Internal scrapers automatically rotate in both directions to prevent scaling or coking. The residual moisture content after treatment is ≤15%, presenting a solid state without fluidity, and is automatically discharged and transported for disposal.
